Canada's Christine Sinclair now better than ever in 'EA Sports FC 24' video game

VANCOUVER — Christine Sinclair is in the game. And she's better than ever.

EA Sports said Monday that is has released a special Christine Sinclair "End of An Era" Ultimate Team Player Item, which improves her in-game rating — once obtained through a squad building challenge in the "EA Sports FC 24" video game.

The video game developer says "End of an Era" items are "unique, improved items assigned to a selection of football players to celebrate the end of football careers or their move on from clubs/national teams where they leave a legacy behind, with Sinclair being celebrated for her time with the Canadian national team."

Last month, EA released an "End of an Era" item for American star Megan Rapinoe.

Ultimate Team is a game mode that allows players to build and play a dream all-star squad in the soccer game, formerly known as the EA Sports FIFA franchise.

The video game is developed by EA Vancouver and EA Romania.

Sinclair, the world's all-time leading scorer with 190 goals. is scheduled to finish out her international career on Tuesday against Australia at B.C. Place Stadium. The 40-year-old from Burnaby, B.C., plans to play one more season for her club team, the NWSL Portland Thorns.
