Youth art contest

The Nipissing Transition House and One Pledge are hosting a youth art competition as part of their “Show of Hands” initiative. The goals of the “Show of Hands” initiative are to raise awareness about intimate partner violence and garner pledges for the One Pledge campaign to end domestic violence. 

All Nipissing District youth between the ages of 14 and 29 are invited to participate and share their perspectives on intimate partner violence by submitting an original piece of artwork in any medium including visual art, music, dance, video and/or creative writing. 

Artwork must be submitted by March 11, 2016 for consideration. There are two top prizes of $500 each. In addition, there six honourable mention prizes of $100 each. Winners will be announced on March 21st, 2016. The winning and honourable mention artwork will be displayed/presented at the “Show of Hands” Celebration at the Discovery North Bay Museum on March 31st, 2016.
