YMCA Canada received a sizable donation from the YMCA of USA, to which the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario was able to secure 50 boxes. This donation could be used for programming, services, or community outreach.

OUTLoud North Bay was chosen as the recipient.

“It was important to us to give back this holiday season. It’s been a hard year for everyone, and if this donation and memberships can help these kids feel better and live healthier, happier lives, we’re happy that we can help give back and make a positive impact for them,” said Elizabeth Aver, Communications Specialist at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario.

"OUTLoud North Bay is a Queer, Trans, Two Spirited, Lesbian, Gay and Ally led organization that affirms and supports the experience of youth,19 and under, within northern Ontario by providing anonymous peer support and referrals, training youth to provide support to other youth and providing resources so youth can make informed decisions," says a news release.

"I've been saying for the past few months that we need to invest in our community, so to share resources and build partnerships we just become one big family, forever grateful to those that step up to help raise others up," said Seth Compton, Founder of OutLoud North Bay.
