Washer, dryer and fridge stolen

On Monday December 5, at approximately 12:30 p.m. the Almaguin Highlands OPP investigated a theft at a Stisted Road residence.

Someone entered the residence and stole a washer, dryer, fridge, a drill press, grinding wheel and miter saw.  The total value of the stolen items is approximately $2,000.

Meanwhile, here are week three results of the Festive RIDE program.

During the third week of the Festive R.I.D.E program (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) the Almaguin Highlands OPP checked approximately 588 vehicles.  As a result of these R.I.D.E. checks, one driver has been charged with having more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood.

On Sunday December 11, at approximately 4:30 p.m. OPP had a R.I.D.E program set up at Pickerel and Jack Lake Road and Berriedale Road, Armour Township.  A vehicle approached the program and subsequently the driver, Jeremy Brooker, 42 or Armour Township was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Having more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood,
  • Drive motor, no currently validated permit, 
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor,

Brooker was released by police and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday January 26, 2017 in Sundridge.
