Unresponsive driver faces drug charges

On October 12, shortly after 11 a.m. Temiskaming OPP responded to a call to assist the Emergency Medical Service on Rorke Avenue in Temiskaming Shores.  

Investigation revealed that the driver was unresponsive. 

Police awakened the female driver and located drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. She was placed under arrest.

A search yielded a quantity of suspected methamphetamine.

The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded. 

Krista Douglas, 31, of Cobalt is charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with a demand
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance - methamphetamine

Douglas was released by way of an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on October 26 in Temiskaming Shores.
