On June 16, at approximately 4:30 p.m., members of the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified of an incident involving a traffic complaint involving a transport on Highway 17 West in the Township of West Nipissing.
A lengthy investigation revealed that an eastbound transport passed stopped vehicles that were behind an eastbound school bus which was stopped with its overhead red signal-lights flashing and stop arm out. The transport swerved into the westbound lane almost hitting a parent waiting to cross the road.
On July 18, 2016, Jonathon COMPTON, 45, Etobicoke, was issued a Provincial Offence Notice with the following charges:
- Careless driving,
- Fail to Stop for School Bus
