The West Nipissing Police Service is investigating the theft of a motor vehicle from a Verner residence. On March 14th the complainant contacted the police to report that her Dodge Stratus had been stolen from her driveway sometime overnight. The vehicle was located later that morning along Stewart Road. The car had sustained major damage as it had been set on fire. Police are seeking the public’s assistance and anyone that may have witnessed suspicious activity along Stewart road is asked to contact the West Nipissing Police Service.

A Cache Bay road resident contacted the police to report that his apartment had been broken into. Police attended the complainant’s apartment and learned that he believed the culprit had entered the apartment via a second-floor window and once inside had ransacked it. The investigation is ongoing.

A local contractor contacted the police to report that a number of tools had been stolen from a job site. The complainant indicated that he had been doing work at a residence on Toronto street, when his day’s work was over he left his tools at the residence. The following day when he returned he discovered that the house had been entered and the tools had been stolen. A number of Dewalt tools including, a sawsall, a dremel, a drill/driver set and a number of 20 volt batteries were taken. The investigation continues.

The West Nipissing Police are investigating the break and enter and mischief at an abandoned business. The business was deemed abandoned and signage forbidding anyone from attending was posted however this didn’t stop culprit(s) from forcing some doors and breaking windows to gain entry.
