On October 27, 2009 Nick Klassen of North Bay died suddenly from complications due to the H1N1 virus.
He was 23 years old. Nick grew up in North Bay and was a graduate of West Ferris Secondary School.
Nick believed that change begins with positive thinking, communication and being socially brave enough to lend a hand to your neighbour. In recognition of this, Plaid Shirt Society (made up of friends and family) hosts an annual fundraiser for charity.
Event: The Plaid Shirt Society party in support of the North Bay Food Bank (to support children in the community with school lunches)
