On September 23 and September 24, Temiskaming Detachment OPP officers and members of the Temiskaming OPP Auxiliary Unit will be registering children and vulnerable persons using the EZ Child ID Kit.
The kit consists of a laptop containing a preloaded child ID information form, a fingerprint scanner, a camera, and a carrying case.
The purpose of the EZ Child ID kit is to collect information and photos of a child or a vulnerable person identified as being at a higher risk of becoming lost or wandering. No personal information is stored on the kit laptop.
The information is saved to a USB stick and given to the parent or caregiver at the time of the registration. The information could later be presented to the police in the event of an abduction or missing person.
