Telephone tips result in arrests

North Bay OPP received a call of a suspicious person on Village Drive in Tilden Lake. A description of the person and vehicle was given to police.

On November 6, 2015, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a northbound vehicle on Highway 11 in Callander, was stopped after members of the OPP received several complaint calls.

Upon further investigation, the driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged. 

Eric Walker, age 43 of Richmond Hill, Ontario, was charged with the following;

  • Driving While Ability Impaired 
  • Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood, 
  • Driver - Fail to Properly Wear Seat Belt, 
  • Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor,

Walker was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on November 17.

Also on November 7, at approximately 7:20 p.m., North Bay OPP received a call of a suspicious person on Village Drive in Tilden Lake.  A description of the person and vehicle was given to police.

The vehicle was located driving southbound on Highway 11, in North Bay.  The vehicle was stopped and, after further investigation, the driver was arrested and charged.  Peter Friedrich, age 56 of Gowganda, Ontario, was charged with;

  • Driving While Ability Impaired - motor vehicle 
  • Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood,  
  • Driving Motor Vehicle With Open Container of Liquor,

The accused was released from police custody and is required to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on November 24.
