On Thursday, November 6, 2014 members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit, OPP Canine Team, OPP Urban Search and Rescue / Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Response Team (USAR/CBRNE) executed a search warrant. The warrant was for an area in and around a residence located on Waubuno Road in Parry Sound.
The Warrant and Search were the result of a resident turning in potentially volatile materials that were suspicious in nature and if combined could potentially be hazardous for the area residents and the home owner.
In the interest of public safety, the search was conducted and concluded with police not locating any further suspicious material.
The investigation is on-going.
