The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario (CSPNE) is celebrating Pride Month.

Activities are being organized in CSPNE schools to celebrate differences and to encourage tolerance, caring and well-being for all members of the school and broader community according to a news release.

"As an inclusive, visionary, authentic and committed school board, it is important to prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion," says the release. "In fact, all CSPNE facilities - including schools - will fly the rainbow flag to proudly demonstrate its participation in the universal movement of respect and love of difference.  In addition, all activities suggested by the CSPNE education team are linked to the Health and Physical Education curriculum as required by the Ontario Ministry of Education.

"CSPNE is an ally of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and is committed to ensuring that our schools and administrative offices are safe and healthy environments where there is a place for everyone and success is available to all."

Also, this month the Franco-Nord Catholic school community is committed to cultivating inclusive and safe learning environments where every student, staff member and community member feels welcomed, valued and respected.

"As disciples of Jesus Christ, proud of our Catholic identity, we believe that we are all made in the image and likeness of the God who created us and loves us as we are. Each person is a wonder of God. We are therefore called to see each other through the eyes of God, with sensitivity, empathy and respect."
