Stolen vehicle spotted by North Bay Police

Two Alberta residents face charges

Alberta licence plates on a KIA Spectra drew the attention of the North Bay Police on Monday afternoon, as the marker and car description matched those in an RCMP Blackfalds Detachment report of a stolen vehicle.

At approximately 2 p.m., police approached the male driver and his female passenger while they were in the parked vehicle at Cassells Street and Sixth Avenue, arresting both of them with possession of property obtained by crime.

A search subsequent to the arrest revealed that the car contained a small amount of suspected marijuana, and that the male driver was in possession of a small amount of suspected Methamphetamine. The search also revealed that the female passenger was in possession of a folding knife with a spring-loaded blade that can be automatically opened. This type of knife is considered a prohibited weapon under the Criminal Code.

As a result of the investigation, North Bay Police arrested and charged two Alberta residents.

Nathann Klammer, age 21, faces the following charges:

·         one count of possession of property obtained by crime;

·         two counts of possession of a controlled substance;
