St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Academic Awards Night

St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Catholic Secondary School held its Academic Awards Night on Tuesday June 6th, giving out more than $28,900 in Scholarships and Bursaries and over 300 Academic Awards.

The 2016-2017 Major Award winners were:

Student of the Year was Julianna Head, who also walked away with an Honour letter, Dick Smith Volunteer award and Tom Hedican Volunteer Award.

Honour Letter winners were Cecilia Mogan, Chris Sweeney, Temitope Akintola and John McParland for all their contribution to SJSH over the years.

John McParland was the recipient of the Catholic Education Foundation of Ontario Award as well and the Distinguished Catholic Graduate  Award, selected by the Trustees. 

Cecilia Mogan and Michael Denomme were the  Bishop Carter Leadership winners. 

Temitope Akintola  was the recipient of the Lieutenant Governor’s Community Volunteer Award. 

Selena Schaefer was the Lillian and Tom Harrington Award Winner, while Joe Whittet won the Principal’s Award.

Highest Academic Achievement winners were Matthew McParland and Michelle Williamson for Grade 11,  Carli Hemsworth  for Grade 10 and Jacob Szaranski  Grade 9.

Katrina Priddle  was the Vice Principal’s winner.

This year’s “Lucidus Astrum” or “Shining Star” award winners were Liam Desrosiers , Claire Levesque, Danielle Seguin and Ashton Richard for being overall outstanding students.
