A vigilant neighbor helped West Nipissing police apprehend two teens spray-painting graffiti in the Main Street area.

Police were called and told that some kids were on the roof of a local school. When officers arrived on scene the youth were still present. They were apprehended and delivered to their parents. The investigation is ongoing.

Also, on August 7 a Holditch Street resident contacted the West Nipissing police to advise that minor damage had been caused to her house door. The complainant advised police that at approximately 9 p.m. the previous night she heard noise around her home but didn’t go to check.  When she checked in the morning she noticed damage to the outer door. Thieves did not gain entry to the residence. Police remind people to lock their doors and report suspicious people and activity.

And August 9, a John Street resident reported both his vehicles were entered overnight and property stolen. Police learned that thieves entered the vehicles, made off with lottery tickets, money, and gift cards. There are no suspects at this time.

Police remind vehicle owners to ensure their vehicles are locked when unattended.
