Hope you have snow tires if you are heading south today (Tues.)

A snow squall watch has been issued for the Huntsville - Baysville, and Barrie area making Highway 11 S. tricky.

Snow squalls are expected to develop late this evening.

Under the snow squall bands, visibility will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.

Lake effect snow squalls over Lake Huron and Georgian Bay are expected to develop later this evening and extend eastward over the area. The snow squalls will result in suddenly reduced visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow. Total snowfall amounts of 10 cm are possible by Wednesday morning.

Snow squall bands are expected to move southeast of Georgian Bay Wednesday morning as winds become northwesterly.

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
