SJSH announces major award recipients

St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Catholic Secondary School (SJSH) held its annual Academic Awards Night on June 6 in their Bishop Carter Auditorium.

The evening saw the school community recognize and celebrate the academic accomplishments of various grade 9 through 12 students resulting in 240 awards distributed, with $28,000 in bursary and scholarships being awarded to grade 12 students.  

Below is a list of the 2022-2023 Major Award recipients. 

  • Jude Caruso: Lillian and Tom Harrington Award; Honour Letter 
  • Madilyn Chorney: Principal Award  
  • Finn Gould: Honour Letter 
  • Anna Green: Principal Award  
  • Emily Hind: Honour Letter 
  • Lauren Lacelle: Linda Jamieson Memorial Award  
  • Kyller McKay: Honour Letter 
  • Allison Patenaude: Bishop Carter Leadership; Linda Jamieson Memorial Award  
  • David Rojas Reid: Bishop Carter Leadership; Honour Letter 
  • Ben Talbot: Catholic Education Foundation – Catholic Student Award; Dick Smith Volunteer Community Contribution Award 
  • Emma Walton: The Lieutenant Governor’s Community Volunteer Award; Distinguished Catholic Graduate Award 
  • Jude Zappala: Student of the Year; Honour Letter 

The Lucidus Astrum Award or Shining Star Award winners were: 

  • Erika Hewgill (Grade 9) 
  • Jackson Culin (Grade 10) 
  • Emma Long (Grade 11)

The Highest Academic Achievement winners were:
