On Jan. 30, a local bait and tackle business owner contacted the West Nipissing Police Service to report a theft.
The owner told police that someone had stolen 60 dozen Shiner minnows. The thief entered the storage area and made off with a garbage pail full. The value of the theft is estimated to be in excess of $160.
Meanwhile, between Jan. 27 and Feb. 2, the West Nipissing Police Service logged 175 calls for service. Among those were five motor-vehicle collisions, 34 police-assistance calls, five thefts, two unwanted-person complaints, two mischief complaints and one break and enter.
