Local young voices will join a national conversation about future policies that matter most to them, and all Canadians, when Anthony Rota, Member of Parliament for Nipissing – Timiskaming, hosts the first meeting of the Nipissing – Timiskaming Constituency Youth Council (CYC) on Nov. 9.

Rota has invited 20 representatives from various communities across the riding to serve on his youth council’s two panels – one for high-school aged participants and the other for those in their post-secondary years. The advisory body is non-partisan and will convene several times over the next year. The input gathered from these meetings, and others like them across Canada, will be shared with the federal government to help gain the youth perspective and shape future national policies.

“I look forward to meeting these future leaders from my constituency,” said Rota.
