News Release: North Bay, ON – The City’s Water Review Committee has established a series of recommendations regarding issues surrounding the new metered water system in North Bay.  The committee is inviting residents to attend a public meeting on Monday, September 28 at 5:30 PM in the Council Chambers to review and comment on the recommendations.

There are ten recommendations, developed with the objective of implementing a fair and equitable system while ensuring that those who practice conservation can control their water bill and help the environment.

Among the recommendations: using meter size in establishing water rates; approving 2016 water rates at 60% for fixed costs and 40% for variable use with an annual review to consider adjustments; and a conservation program that provides rebates for the installation of new low-flow toilets.

A full list of the recommendations is attached and also available at the City’s website.
