Powassan and District Union Public Library hosted its third biennial Bid to Build – Live Auction on Saturday, October 15 at the Golden Sunshine Club. The auction raised over $5,000 for the upcoming Invest in Your Future with Powassan Library Expansion in 2017.

“Thank you to all of our donors, volunteers and participants,” Project Administration Intern, Chelsie Legree, said. “This auction would not have been possible without your support!” David Dino White played music and Brady from 101.9 Rock attended the viewing before we kicked off the Auction with the Volunteer of the Year Award.

Allan Gomoll was unanimously chosen by the Library Board as the Volunteer of the Year. He has been an active member of Powassan Library’s community for 35 years. He designed the existing building in 1982 and has been a Library Board Chair and Vice Chair. It would be hard to find a person who has cared more deeply about his community and our library. Thank you Al!
