The North Bay Symphony welcomes penny whistle player Daev Clysdale to the stage in a concert filled with Celtic tunes that just might get audiences dancing in the aisles. “Whistle a Celtic Tune” takes place at 2:30 pm on Saturday, May 14 at the Capitol Centre.
This one-hour, family-friendly concert will delight Celtic music fans of all ages – and children 12 & under are FREE with the purchase of an Adult or Student ticket.
Daev Clysdale will be familiar to North Bay audiences from his appearances with the Celtic band Rant Maggie Rant. He has performed across North America and has twice competed in the All-Ireland Finals. Daev was the first to earn a Canadian music performance degree on the tin whistle and he has composed a piece for tin whistle and orchestra that will receive its world premiere at this concert!
Music includes selections from Lord of the Dance and the Titanic soundtrack, Pennywhistle Jig from the film The Molly McGuires, and many more jigs and reels to get hands clapping and toes tapping!
