(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On October 9, 2014 the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting a stop on Highway 400 in Seguin Township. At approximately 3:02 p.m., a southbound red Ford failed to move into another lane for emergency vehicle.  As a result of police investigation, Cannabis Marihuana and Hashish was seized.

Driver, Nicholas HNAKUIK, 21 years of age from Garden River First Nation, Ontario was arrested and has been charged with:

  1. Fail to move into another lane for emergency vehicle – if safe to do so contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario (HTA)
  2. Three (3) drug offences including: Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – under 3 kilograms as per the Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA).

Passenger, Taylor CROCKFORD, 19 years of age from Sault Ste Marie, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

  1. Three (3) drug charges including Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – under 3 kilograms as per the Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA).

The two accused were released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on November 6, 2014.
