OPP promotions

Chief Superintendent Fern Labelle, Regional Commander for North East Region Ontario Provincial Police announces the following changes within the North East Region (NER) Command team. 

Inspector Joan McMahon has transferred from Manager, Regional Crime Prevention and Investigation to the Manager of Staff Development and Training. McMahon started with the OPP at the Espanola Detachment in 1987 then transferred to the OPP's East Region (ER) where she gained criminal investigation experience. She then returned to the NER where she continued to work in several other portfolios, being promoted further up the ranks. Inspector McMahon will bring significant experience to her new role.     

Newly promoted Detective Inspector Todd Proulx will assume command of the Regional Crime Prevention and Investigation portfolio. Proulx joined the OPP in 1995 where he was assigned to Haileybury Detachment (now Temiskaming). Proulx developed criminal investigation experience while at the Mattawa Detachment before his promotions at the Provincial Communications Centre North Bay (PCCNB) and then at the Provincial Communications Centre Orillia. He returned to North Bay as the regional Staffing Advisor and has recently been Acting Inspector at the PCCNB.

Newly promoted Inspector Baldassare (Baldo) Nuccio will assume command of the Business and Finance portfolio. Nuccio started his OPP career in 1998 where he was deployed to Kapuskasing Detachment (now James Bay Detachments). Nuccio developed experience in criminal investigations both in NER and ER. He returned to NER becoming Staff Sergeant, Operations Manager for the James Bay Detachments while also successfully completing several Acting Inspector roles at NER Headquarters.
