It’s a new day in North Bay and I want to offer my congratulations to Mayor McDonald and to all of the new and returning councillors. It was an exciting campaign season and I wish our new council all the very best going forward and offer them my support and encouragement. For those councillors not returning to office, I thank them for all their hard work over the years and service to our city.

Well done to every candidate who stepped forward this election. They put their lives on hold the last few months to try and make our community a better place. I hope they are all proud of their efforts today and enjoyed this unique experience that we shared together. Special shout out to the spouses and families for all their hard work and supporting their loved ones during this campaign.

As for me, well tomorrow is another day and I am feeling grateful for all the blessings in my life and optimistic about the future. A year ago I was barely able to stand or walk and in constant pain after two back to back accidents and 8 months in bed on top of my military service-related injuries. Now I am able to stand and walk and moving better and just completed a campaign for public office with only two days off between my retirement from the military this summer and the start of the campaign.

Once all the election admin is wrapped up I’ll be spending some quality time with my fiancé Tiffany and family and continue on with my physical rehabilitation and transition back to civilian life. North Bay is my home and I’m committed to doing whatever I can to support our city and all of its residents in the years to come. Thank you to everyone that voted for and supported me and also to everyone who took the time to get out to vote in this election.

 Best Regards,

 Neal
