On February 14, shortly before 5:30 p.m. Temiskaming OPP officers received a call about a shoplifter on Highway 11, in Temiskaming Shores.
Police say a man entered the store and left without paying for his merchandise.
An officer tried to stop the thief but a scuffle ensued and the man fled on foot. He was found a short time after hidden in a nearby building.
Andre Leveille, 47, from Temiskaming Shores is charged with:
- Theft under $5,000 - shoplifting
- Assault with intent to resist arrest
Leveille was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 17 Temiskaming Shores,
