North Bay woman faces opioid charge

Yesterday evening, Temiskaming OPP officers stopped a known suspended driver on Highway 65 in Temiskaming Shores.  

The driver, Chad Lamoureux, 28-year-old Ingram Township resident, near Earlton, was arrested and charged with driving while suspended.

He was released on a summons and is scheduled to appear in court on September 12, in Temiskaming Shores. The vehicle was impounded for seven days.  

Upon further investigation, a small amount of suspected "Purple Heroin" was found and seized from a passenger.

It was also determined that the individual had provided police with a false identity and was wanted on a warrant from the North Bay Police Service   

Krista Lee LaPierre, 21, of North Bay was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance - Opioid, and
  • Obstruct peace officer.

LaPierre was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to attend court September 17, in Temiskaming Shores. She was then taken to North Bay to deal with the outstanding warrant.
