North Bay OPP lay impaired charge

The accused was issued a 90-day Automatic Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North Bay Detachment conducted a traffic stop on Highway 534, in Patterson Township around 9 p.m.on June 19. 

Upon further investigation, police requested the driver to provide a sample of breath into a roadside screening device which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and was brought to the Powassan Detachment for further testing.   

Bruce Hamilton, age 57, of Patterson Township, Ontario, was charged with Operation While Impaired - Alcohol and Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration - 80 Plus. 

The accused was issued a 90-day Automatic Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.  

The accused has been released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on July 23, 2019.
