During the month of January 2018, the North Bay Detachment of the OPP responded to the following incidents:

  • Impaired Driving Incidents                       3
  • Motor Vehicle Collisions                          100
  • Fatal Motor Vehicle Collisions                 1 (3 deaths)

"If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi, or public transit, stay overnight or stay home" says North Bay OPP Detachment Commander, Staff Sergeant Chris Summersby. "Also remember, that winter weather conditions can change quickly, placing extra demands on your vehicle and your driving skills. The winter months are a particularly important time to stay focused on the road and on other vehicles, and eliminate all distractions."
