The North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were kept busy over the Thanksgiving long weekend responding to a variety of incidents. Officers responded to 91 calls for service, which included thefts, harassment, domestic disputes, drug offences, motor vehicle collisions and many more criminal and provincial matters.
Officers conducted four R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) programs throughout the area checking a total of 274 vehicles.
During the long weekend officers laid 118 speeding tickets, one stunt driving charge, three distracted driver charges, three seatbelt charges, three suspended drivers, one Controlled Drugs and Substance Act charge and numerous other Highway Traffic Act offences.
