North Bay Humane Society holding 'Curling for Kibble' event

The aim is to raise $10,000 to help offset the cost of more than 18,000 lbs of food and 25,000 lbs of litter used by the shelter every year

The North Bay and District Humane Society is hosting its first-ever charity bonspiel 'Curling for Kibble.

The event takes place on Saturday, January 21 at the North Bay Granite Club. 

The aim is to raise $10,000 to help offset the cost of more than 18,000 lbs of food and 25,000 lbs of litter used by the shelter every year.

The one-day tournament offers curlers a two-game guarantee as well as food, and entertainment.

"Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome for what organizers hope will be a great day on the ice," says a news release.

“Registering for Curling for Kibble is a great way to support your local shelter,” says Liam Cullin, Executive Director.“More than one thousand companion animals are helped by the North Bay Humane Society every year and fundraisers like this help us continue that important work.”

Cost to play is $250 per foursome and sponsorship spots are still available. Registration for Curling for Kibble is now open at www.nbdhs.ca/curling
