A ribbon cutting yesterday at the Davedi Club with Vince Orlando (Davedi Club President), Carla Ammeratta and Micheline Bedard (both from Anthony Rota’s Office) and Lena Fedeli (Davedi Club Ladies Auxiliary President).

The Italian social club received $25,000 through the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program towards the purchase of the new walk-in cooler/freezer that has greatly benefited their members at the Davedi Club.

"It has really improved 'the quality of a better energy saver, easier accessibility, and safer working environment for all'.  It has created more confidence, enthusiasm and safety amongst the seniors," says a news release from the club.

The new equipment will enable the ladies and men of the Davedi Club to continue to produce its delicious line of Mamma Davedi frozen foods, host Friday luncheons, and Spaghetti Suppers.

Representatives of the club’s executive, ladies auxiliary and general membership, as well as invited dignitaries, participated in a brief ceremony Tuesday evening.
