North Bay, ON – On November 6, 2014, Ontario Works will be implementing new technology,
known as SAMS, to complete applications and issue benefits for people receiving social
assistance.
The District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board (DNSSAB), which administers
Ontario Works benefits for citizens in the District of Nipissing, wants all social assistance
recipients to know that income support and benefits will continue to be delivered on time.
“This is great news as it will create more effective services and efficiencies for staff and clients,”
says Bonnie Kraemer, Director of Social Services with the DNSSAB. “While we don’t anticipate
any issues, we ask for everyone’s support and patience as we move from the old system to the
new one.”
If you are receiving benefits from Ontario Works please watch for mail outs that will be arriving
shortly explaining the changes.
