Members of the community are invited to drop in anytime between 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12 at a Community Open House to see the new Parry Sound Public School at 21 Beatty Street, Parry Sound. An official grand opening ceremony will take place later in the year. Staff have been busy unpacking boxes and setting up new classrooms to prepare to welcome Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 students, from Victory and William Beatty public schools, to their new school. On the first day of school, Tuesday, September 8, students will be greeted by their teacher outside on the school yard. The school mascot is the Wolves and students will be voting on the school colours during the first week of school. The Near North District School Board shares in the excitement of opening a new state-of-the-art facility, which will offer an excellent learning environment for students in the Parry Sound area of the district.
