First-year Canadore College dental hygiene student, Esha Bodiwala, recently took receipt of a Colgate-Palmolive CDHA Dental Hygiene Academic Admission Scholarship.
Bodiwala is one of 30 students studying in a dental hygiene program in one of Canada’s postsecondary institutions to receive the $350 scholarship.
Colgate-Palmolive established the annual academic admission scholarship, administered in partnership with the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association (CDHA) in an effort to support the education of dental hygiene professionals and to assist students enrolled in dental hygiene programs.
“Esha is very deserving of this award,” said Terra Bourre, academic coordinator of Canadore’s dental hygiene program. “She is a conscientious student and a pleasure to teach. We are thankful to CDHA and Colgate-Palmolive for assisting our students with the costs associated with dental hygiene education.”
According to The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) dental hygiene is the 6th largest registered health profession in Canada.
Professionals work in a variety of settings, including independent practice, with people of all ages, addressing issues related to oral health.
