UPDATED: NOW OPEN Multiple motor vehicle collisions close Highway 101

Update:

The Superior East Chapleau Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) advises that Highway 101 has now been re-open from Chapleau to Foleyet. The OPP remain at the scene while they investigate the motor vehicle collisions.

OPP advises motorists to exercise caution as driving conditions are hazardous at this time, so please stay off the roads unless emergent travel is required.

The Superior East Chapleau Detachment of the OPP advises that Highway 101 was closed around 9 a.m. from Chapleau to Foleyet while they investigate multiple motor vehicle collisions due to deteriorating road and weather conditions.

OPP advises motorists to exercise caution as driving conditions are hazardous at this time, so please stay off the roads unless emergent travel is required. 

The O.P.P. will distribute details and updates of the road advisory as information becomes available. It is unknown at this time when the road will reopen.
