Motorcyclist injured avoiding a bear

Investigation revealed that the 61 years old male rider of the motorcycle was travelling on Highway 17 when he lost control trying to avoid a collision with a bear.

A local man is in hospital after almost crashing into a bear on Highway 17 in the Agawa Bay area.

OPP say on Sunday October 11, at approximately 4 p.m., officers from the Superior East Wawa Detachment of the OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Highway 17 in the Agawa Bay area.

Investigation revealed that the 61 years old male rider of the motorcycle, David Lock, was travelling on Highway 17 when he lost control trying to avoid a collision with a bear.

As a result the rider sustained injuries and was transported to the Wawa Lady Dunn hospital by ambulance for treatment.
