Military families of 22 Wing North Bay will benefit from expanded programs and services through their community hub thanks to previously announced financial support from the Government of Canada according to a news release from MP Anthony Rota.

Rota visited the North Bay Military Family Resource Centre today to see the local effects of an annual $6 million funding boost for the Military Family Services program.

The new funding was announced in January 2018 and North Bay MFRC’s share will amount to $141,760 for the fiscal years 2017-18 and 2018-19.

The money will be put toward various initiatives, including programming for youth.

There are 32 MFRCs on Canadian Armed Forces bases and wings across the country.

In addition to social activities, MFRCs offer information, resources, referrals and services that support military families with deployments, relocation, employment, education and training, health and well-being, as well as programs for children and youth.
