Mattawa-based combo, Broken Down Lori are in the final stages of recording their debut CD – [sic] ‘Methamorphosis’, with producer Ben Leggett at the helm.

BDL sessions began in September 2016. Guitarist Kevin J Pecore III explains that with a tentative track list of 13 original compositions, the challenge now becomes in deciding which selections will make the final cut:

“It’s like giving birth to thirteen babies. But, not all at the same time, though. I don’t think that’s possible. Anyway, we’ve crafted some strong songs that run the gamut of genres: Rockabilly, jazz, folk, blues and straight ahead dropped-tuned metal. Now we need to find a delicate way to tell three of the babies to take a hike.”

Final mastering of the tracks is scheduled for late April 2017.

“We’re on schedule to have all the mastering complete in May and to have the CD ready to go for June,” says Pecore.

One song that didn’t make the top thirteen list was the sprawling 19-minute mini-opera ‘Ubtoo ButterArts’, because BDL drummer Brent Ogletree refused to play the 19-minute mini-opera, ‘Uboo ButterArts’.
