Man faces charges of failing to provide the necessities of life, aggravated assault, and breach of probation

On March 25th the West Nipissing Police Service was contacted regarding a possible domestic assault. The complainant advised that a female and male had been shouting for hours. Police went to a Highway 539 residence where they discovered a male and female outside. The female had visible injuries and it was apparent that she needed medical attention. The man was taken into custody and the woman was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. The man faces charges of failing to provide the necessities of life, aggravated assault, and breach of probation.

On March 26th police received a complaint that a young woman had flagged down a vehicle and wanted some sort of assistance. The complainant indicated that the woman appeared disoriented and confused. Police attended the area at which time they located the woman. The woman, known to police, was taken into custody and now faces charges relating to her breaching her recognizance.

A Verner resident contacted the police on March 26th to report that someone had entered her vehicle overnight and had stolen an expensive pair of prescription sunglasses. Once the culprit realizes the glasses have corrective lenses they will likely be discarded. If anyone finds the blue frame glasses they are asked to contact the police.
