A good Samaritan inadvertently got a man arrested Saturday night.
OPP in Elliot Lake were called to their own lobby at around 9 p.m. after another person had found a confused and intoxicated male wandering around outside in the cold.
He dropped off the drunk at the police detachment.
When police tried to help the man find a safe place for the night, he became very uncooperative and belligerent.
So police arrested the man and gave him safe lodging until morning when he sobered up.
A 54-year-old Elliot Lake man was charged with being Intoxicated in a public place.
