On January 10, at 11:46 a.m. East Algoma OPP officers received a call pertaining to a man drinking an alcoholic beverage while inside his vehicle which was parked downtown Elliot Lake.
Police found the vehicle and a subsequent traffic stop was conducted.
A strong odour of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from the vehicle. After a police investigation, the male driver admitted to drinking in the car.
Andreas Sandrock, 55,, from Elliot Lake was charged with:
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
The OPP remind motorists that no amount of alcohol or drug is acceptable to consume and drive.
