MAN ARRESTED FOR DRIVING IMPAIRED

News Release **************** (WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On February 22, 2015 the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was advised that a possible impaired driver was leaving Parry Sound.

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On February 22, 2015 the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was advised that a possible impaired driver was leaving Parry Sound. Police patrolled Rankin Lake Road in Seguin Township and observed a red pickup swearing back and forth on the roadway. Police initiated a traffic stop and determined the driver had consumed alcohol.

As a result of the officer’s investigation, Kyle LEBERT, 22 years of age from Seguin Township, was arrested and charged with the following:

1.    Driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle, contrary to the Criminal Code (CC)

2.    Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol, contrary to the (CC)

3.    Novice driver – Blood Alcohol Content (B.A.C.) above zero, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on March 5, 2015 to answer to his charges.

The OPP is reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
