Loud muffler = car towed

Police took no chances and had the vehicle towed.

On November 22 at 2:46 p.m., the East Algoma OPP were on regular patrol duties on Highway 108, in Elliot Lake.

Police saw a northbound vehicle operating with a very loud muffler. 

The vehicle was stopped and investigation revealed the entire vehicle to be in very poor condition. 

Police took no chances and had the vehicle towed. 

Braeden ANTOINE, 18 years of age, from Elliot Lake, was charged with:

  • Operate unsafe motor vehicle, 

  • Fail to surrender insurance card,

Meanwhile, on November 21 at 12:43 p.m., East Algoma OPP officers were on regular patrol duties on Highway 108.

Police observed a southbound vehicle and a traffic stop was initiated.  Investigation revealed both front and rear license plates not being registered to the appropriate vehicle. 

Brandon ROTH, 23 years of age, from Elliot Lake, was charged with:

  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle, 

  • Drive motor vehicle – No license, 

  • Drive motor vehicle – No permit,

  • Operate motor vehicle on a highway – no insurance,
