A 37-year-old North Bay man has been arrested on drug and weapons charges in Waterloo,
Police say on May 1, at 10:50 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to a complaint about a driver being slumped over in a vehicle that was running.
The vehicle left prior to police arriving but was later stopped in Kitchener.
As a result of the traffic stop, the driver was arrested for "impaired operation of a motor vehicle."
Through further investigation, police also discovered numerous amounts of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, including scales and packaging, and weapons.
As a result of the investigation, the accused is also charged with:
- Two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance
- Three counts of possession of a prohibited weapon.
The man, whom police would not identify, was held in custody for a bail hearing.
