Enter the Story will be holding their first fundraising event at the White Water Gallery on July 31, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.  The event is an art auction called Journey and Inspiration.  It is sponsored by Orchard's Fresh Food Market, who will be supplying food and beverages to the event.

This event boasts such names as Geoff Mayne, Mitch Ellam, and Imogen Wilson as contributing artists to the auction.  Their pieces reflect the event theme and range from portraits, to landscapes, and even geometric shapes and images of space.  Additionally, local writer Elijah Kazlauskas will be holding his debut release for his second novel, Elwood.

Each art piece up for auction will have a starting price, as well as a "max bid" option, for those who have truly fallen in love with a specific piece in particular.  Funds raised from this event will be shared by the artists, Enter the Story, and the White Water Gallery itself.

"We wanted to make sure that everyone involved got a fair share of the funds raised," says Enter the Story's communications coordinator Jared Hill.  "Some of the funding will go to our Hero Program, which is where we write personalized stories for underprivileged youth, and some will contribute to our Outreach Program.  The Outreach Program is done with the Lindsay Weld Kids Daycare, where we run reading, writing, and art workshops for the kids."

Enter the Story is an adhoc collective whose goal is to inspire local youth through literature.  Our two main programs promote confidence and youth's self-esteem through creating personalized stories and workshops designed for them to use their imagination.

The White Water Gallery White Water Gallery is a not-for-profit Artist-Run Centre committed to supporting artistic practices that prioritize risk and innovation.
