Pauline McCombe of Kirkland Lake is celebrating after winning a $250,000 top prize with INSTANT CROSSWORD DELUXE.

Pauline, a 61-year-old wife and mother, said she’s been a regular lottery player for decades and her favourite games are INSTANT CROSSWORD and BINGO.

Pauline said when she scanned her ticket on the OLG app she thought her phone was broken. “I thought, ‘This can’t be real,’ and then screamed from the top of my lungs. I was so excited I ran barefoot to my daughter-in-law’s house to show her,” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her windfall.

“I couldn’t even spare an extra minute to put my shoes on!” she laughed.

Kirkland Lake is a small town, so word traveled fast of Pauline’s big win. “Within a few hours I got many calls congratulating me!” she said.

She plans to pay bills, share with her son, and invest the rest. “I know I won but I still have to pinch myself every minute to make sure this isn’t a dream,” she concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at Pettenuzzo’s Your Independent Grocer on McChesney Avenue in Kirkland Lake.
