Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario (CSPNE) today official opened Jeunesse Active in Sturgeon Falls.

Board and public school representatives from Northeastern Ontario, community partners as well as students and their families were in attendance at the opening ceremony.

"This is a very special event for the Francophone and Francophile community in the West Nipissing region" says a Board news release.

"Thanks to this construction project, a new daycare facility which accommodates 88 children, an administrative office and two renovated classrooms for the PAJE program were added to the school. This represents an investment of almost five million dollars that was carried out in two phases."

In her remarks at the ceremony, Line Bergeron, Board Trustee for this region and Chair of the Construction Committee, indicated that she was very pleased to offer an educational setting which meets the expectations of the families as well as the needs of the students.

“After months of hard work, consultation and decision-making, the construction committee is proud to see this new school come to fruition.”

School Principal Christian Lévesque was very happy to welcome all the guests and to finally be able to present the fresh new look of Jeunesse Active.

“Cougars of all ages can now take advantage of these new facilities to embark upon an educational adventure in a setting conducive to learning and success.”
