If you need help in a hurry, who do you call?

Communicators put the "first" into first responders. Seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

"The North Bay City Police and North Bay Fire and Emergency Services Communications Centre respond to the public safety needs for the City of North Bay and Callander. These communicators not only assist citizens with routine inquiries but acquire the information needed in emergencies to ensure Police Officers and Firefighters respond with appropriate assistance that can make the difference between life and death for persons in need," says a news release.

In 2017 the Communications Centre handled over 30,500 calls.

"This week, I am proud to recognize our team of fire and 9-1-1 dispatchers” said Fire Chief Jason Whiteley. “The North Bay Police Service Communications Division provides comprehensive fire emergency dispatch response 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for the citizens and visitors of North Bay. The women and men of the communication division are the first point of contact in an emergency and use modern technology to support North Bay Fire and Emergency Services as we respond to emergencies."
