The Federation of French-Canadian Women of Mattawa and The Companions of Francophone Leisure will celebrate International Women's Day on March 8 by honoring the exceptional women of Mattawa.

The groups are calling upon the community to help identify and celebrate "three remarkable women who embody excellence and dedication."

Inspiring Woman: A woman who has excelled in her field or demonstrates leadership and has ties to Mattawa. She may be a resident or non-resident.

Local Inspiring Woman: A Mattawa resident who demonstrates leadership, contributes greatly to the community, or works behind the scenes to enhance the value of Mattawa.

Emerging Woman: A woman under 35 years of age, residing in Mattawa, who stands out for her actions, projects, or passion.

You can submit nominations for these awards online or in person at the Mattawa Tourist Information Centre before the deadline of March 15.

The announcement of the winners will take place during a special ceremony on Saturday, May 4 at the Lion’s Den.
